Slimeantics is a free daily word game at slimeantics.com. There are no accounts on the website, and the game itself sets no cookies. You can also play inside Discord, where you sign in with your Discord account; Playing in Discord explains what that adds. We plan to show ads through Google AdSense to keep the game free; the advertising section explains what that involves. This page explains the little data the game handles.
The game saves a few things in your browser's local storage so you can pick up where you left off:
This data stays in your browser. The one exception is each finished round's scores, daily or Unlimited, sent as described below; on the website, your stats, streak and history are never sent. (Inside Discord, signed-in players also get a server backup; see Playing in Discord.) You can delete it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, which also resets your stats and streak.
Each time you submit a guess or give up on a word, the game sends a small, anonymous record to our server. We use these records to find good answers the game should accept, spot confusing clues, and support regional spellings. Each record contains:
| What | Example |
|---|---|
| The puzzle, mode (daily or Unlimited), and which word in the round | daily, word 3 |
| The word being guessed and its intended answer | cloud |
| What you typed (lowercase letters only) | clowd |
| The result, and how many hints and wrong guesses you'd used | wrong, 1 hint |
| A random ID created fresh for each round, so one player's retries count once | a random string |
| The country your connection comes from, as a two-letter code | US |
If you first arrived through a tagged link, such as one of our ads, that link's tag. It is remembered on your device for 30 days. Games played inside Discord are tagged discord. | reddit |
| The time it was received | a timestamp |
We do not store your IP address, browser details, or anything that identifies you. The random ID changes every round and isn't tied to a device or person. Because these records aren't linked to you, we can't find or delete one person's guesses; we keep them as long as they help improve the game. (If you play in Discord, see Playing in Discord for how your Discord data relates to these records.)
When you finish the daily puzzle, the results screen shows how many other players gave the same answers. Those are totals counted from these records; no individual guess or player is ever shown.
When you finish a round, daily or Unlimited, the game sends your scores for that round to our server. For the daily puzzle, the results screen uses them to show how you did against everyone else that day, such as "Top 10% of 2,400 players today," and to mark each word's average score on your chart. Scores from both modes also show us which words play too hard or too easy, so we can improve the word list. Each record contains:
| What | Example |
|---|---|
| The mode, and for daily rounds the puzzle | daily, puzzle #13 |
| The seven words in the round | cloud, harbor, … |
| Your total score for the round, and your score on each of the seven words | 525; 100, 75, 100, 50, 0, 75, 100 |
| The same random per-round ID as your guesses, so a round counts once | a random string |
| The time it was received | a timestamp |
Unlimited scores are never used for daily rankings or averages, and Unlimited rounds still don't affect your stats or streak. As with guesses, nothing here identifies you, and the ranking and averages you see are computed from all players' scores combined; no other player's score is ever shown individually.
Slimeantics can also be played as a Discord Activity. None of this applies on the website, which never asks you to sign in. Inside Discord:
/play and /slimeantics open the game in the channel, like the Play button. Anyone in a server with the Slimeantics bot can also use /leaderboard (the server's top players by total points, all time or recently), /stats (a player's days played, points, average, best score and streak in that server) and /history (the server's days played, players, streak, busiest day and best round, with who played it). These show only results from that server. If you've turned off your name, you're left out of leaderboards and the best round, and only you can see your /stats, privately.Unlike the anonymous records above, this data is linked to your Discord account, so we can find it: email us with your Discord username or user ID and we'll send you a copy or delete all of it. Deleting it also takes you off every message the bot has posted that lists you: each one is edited to leave you out, or deleted if nobody else is on it. A message in a channel the bot can no longer reach stays, and that server's moderators can delete it. Your guesses and anonymous score records are stored separately and never with your Discord ID, and we don't link them. Because your channel results include your scores and when you finished, they could in principle be matched against the anonymous score records, so when you ask us to delete your Discord data we delete the channel results and backup that would make that possible. Discord itself handles your use of Discord under Discord's privacy policy.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare necessarily processes your IP address and standard request information to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, and keeps short-lived operational logs. That processing is covered by Cloudflare's privacy policy. The country code above comes from Cloudflare; your IP address itself is not saved with your guesses.
To pay for hosting and keep Slimeantics free, we use or plan to use Google AdSense to show ads. When ads appear on the site:
These cookies are set by Google and its ad partners, not by the game, and the data they collect is handled under Google's policy on how it uses information from sites that use its services and Google's privacy policy. Ads never see your guesses, scores, or stats.
The Share button copies your score summary to your clipboard or opens your device's share sheet; inside Discord, it opens Discord's share dialog. Nothing is posted anywhere unless you choose to paste or send it, apart from the channel messages described under Playing in Discord.
The credits link to the sources of our word data, such as GitHub. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Slimeantics is a general-audience game and isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. The website asks for none from anyone. Inside Discord, which requires its users to be at least 13 (or older where local law requires), we keep the Discord-linked data described under Playing in Discord and show players' names, scores and profile pictures in channel messages as described there. If you believe a child under 13 has played in Discord, email us with their Discord username or user ID and we'll delete everything we hold about them and take them off the bot's messages.
If what the game collects changes, including when ads go live, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
